Summary
Pinellas County is undertaking the replacement of an existing force main along 54th Avenue North, extending from the west side of St.
Joes Creek to 74th Street North, then tying-in to the existing 36" force main at the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility. The project involves replacing approximately 1137 linear feet (LF) of an existing 24-inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) force main due to compromised conditions downstream of the project site. The existing downstream force main has ruptured twice, resulting in sewage spills. Due to those past pipe failures, the force main within 54th Avenue North is being replaced as a preventative measure.
