SUMMARY

The City of Albany Procurement Division is issuing a Request for Proposals for the purchase, absolute acquisition, and adaptive reuse of the City-owned building located at 218 N. Washington Street, known as the former Water, Gas & Light building, encompassing approximately 5,100 square feet. The physical scope of work includes interior remediation, structural stabilization, modernization of all primary building systems, and historic masonry preservation to restore and stabilize the exterior facade while preserving the raw historic brick envelope. Acceptable development concepts include office or professional service spaces, downtown business incubators, restaurants, cafes, retail storefronts, entertainment-related uses, mixed-use commercial concepts, or community-serving public-facing uses.
