From the meeting

At its November 9, 2026 meeting, the council considered an amendment to the City's wholesale water contract with Fort Worth to let Burleson construct part of the proposed Southside II Transmission Main Extension Project with the Stone Rd. / Village Creek Parkway Widening and Reconstruction Project. Staff said the current water agreement runs from January 1, 2011 through September 30, 2031, and that Fort Worth's transmission main expansion was in design and right-of-way acquisition.

The amendment would let Burleson build a section early to avoid tearing up new roadway work. The memo also said FY27 funds in the capital improvement program (CIP) would be diverted to the roadway project for the waterline.
