From the meeting
The October 27, 2026 budget presentation proposes a new Facilities Maintenance Technician position at $109,188, and the City Buildings narrative says staffing growth is driving higher wages and benefits. This is a buying trigger because city building maintenance expansion often precedes added tools, building systems work, custodial equipment, and contract support. The position was still part of the proposed 2027 budget, not a completed hire.
The next formal step in the packet was budget adoption on November 10, 2026.

A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
