From the meeting
The council considered vacating and abandoning the utility easement at 1900 W. State Highway 71 so a proposed commercial development could proceed. City staff said the city maintained a 6-inch sanitary sewer main and manhole facilities in the easement, and that the line would be terminated at a newly constructed manhole adjacent to the property boundary.
The property owner and project engineer had coordinated the sewer relocation, and a replacement utility easement would be dedicated. The ordinance said the abandonment would be subject to completion of the sewer improvements and the new easement.
