THE 30-SECOND BRIEF
The board is asked to authorize Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV to submit a grant application and administer the ELECT program on the district’s behalf. ELECT uses TANF and local match funds to support pregnant and parenting youth in staying in or returning to school. If funded for the new five-year cycle, MIU IV will manage program activities, services, and expenditures, creating ongoing needs for student support, case management tools, and complementary services.
ELECT programs run on five-year funding awards with TANF plus local match; MIU IV will act as the consortium administrator and fiscal agent for participating districts.
