From the meeting
The bill requires a pest inspection and certification before certain building demolitions when a closely-situated building is within 10 feet. A local health officer, local health agency employee, or a DEP-certified commercial pesticide applicator must inspect the building no earlier than 60 days before the demolition permit. The construction permit applicant must pay for the inspection, certification, and any extermination or mitigation measures.
The Assembly passed it on 2026-10-29; implementation of subsection b was set to begin six months after enactment.
