From the meeting
City Manager Mat Houston suggested using the fairgrounds as a supervised area for personal fireworks with fire engines on standby because of rain and safety concerns near RV parks and dry fields. No formal action was taken at this meeting. The idea could lead to staffing, safety, or temporary event-support needs if pursued.
The mayor and fire chief were to confer on the matter.
