From the meeting
At the August 26, 2026 Library Board meeting, the board heard a presentation on the JobPod grant overview and memorandum of understanding (MOU). The board authorized Board President Mike Geisler to sign the MOU, and the project would add a new library space configuration in Adult Services on the 3rd floor. The effort is being done with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and state libraries.
This is a grant-funded library service rollout with a defined implementation path.

Questions about this project
What is a pre-RFP?
A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.

Pre-RFPs typically surface 6–18 months before a formal solicitation is published. Civic IQ tracks City of Merrill's meeting records, agendas, and budgets continuously and updates this pre-RFP as the project moves through the buying cycle toward an RFP.
