From the meeting
At its September 17, 2026 meeting the council approved changing Shawn Cooper's job title from Water Supervisor to Public Works Director. The city said his responsibilities already covered water production, streets, drainage, parks maintenance, and animal control, and compensation would remain within the adopted budget. This is a buying trigger because a newly expanded public works role often shapes future maintenance and capital priorities.
