From the meeting
At its September 16, 2026 meeting, the Planning Commission discussed setting a late-fall kickoff for development of the town master plan. Town Attorney Gene Farish said the current 2015 plan is legally insufficient for new annexation petitions and that a three-mile plan must be in place before the town can process annexations. The commission discussed a smaller mini master plan with 3-5 focused areas instead of one all-encompassing plan.
The discussion also mentioned grant funding and the idea of hiring smaller planning firms with lower rates. Town Administrator Hank Weber said he would invite DOLA Representative Randi Sneed back to a late-fall meeting to start the process.
