From the meeting
At its October 14, 2026 meeting the board accepted Highway Superintendent Duane Sykes's resignation effective October 30, 2026 and approved appointing Duanne Sykes from November 4, 2026 to March 31, 2027. The role controls road operations and winter work, so this is a direct buying trigger for highway planning and execution. The handoff period matters for anyone tied to road maintenance, equipment, or seasonal services.

Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
