From the meeting

At its November 2, 2026 study session, Centennial City Council considered Ordinance No. 2026-O-20 to amend animal control provisions in the Centennial Municipal Code. The draft would shift impoundment hearing requests to the animal owner or keeper, update definitions, and revise vaccination, licensing, quarantine, and penalty rules.

City staff said Centennial Animal Services has worked with Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) since July 1, 2008. Council direction was needed before the City Attorney finalized the ordinance for first reading on November 17, 2026.
