Arlington Transit is operating a microtransit pilot under a $2.5 million DRPT demonstration grant with a $500,000 local match, using a turnkey contract with Via for vehicles, drivers, and operations. The County is working to extend the grant and expand microtransit service zones, and plans to evaluate the pilot and then seek ongoing funding to sustain service. This creates near-term needs for planning, technology, grant strategy, and possibly future operations or software procurements beyond the current Via contract.
