Manitowoc County SWCD is authorized to accept $50,000 for surface water restoration on Cedar Lake and $5,000 for a surface water education program from Wisconsin Department of Natural resources. The SWCD has resources to install BMPs and administer funds without increasing county levy.

Manitowoc County Soil and Water Conservation Department is authorized to accept $135,510 from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) for implementing agricultural best management practices in the Northeast Lakeshore Total Maximum Daily Load area over the next three years. The grant is funded in part or wholly by grants from the Environmental Protection Agency.
