This project aims to revise the 1997 approach for performance prediction model development by updating the methodology for evaluating pavement family definitions, using 17 years of historical condition data to develop improved performance prediction models, developing a new stand-alone performance prediction modeling (PPM) tool, and recommending performance prediction models for incorporation into the pavement management process.
Guidance is also provided on how to use the developed performance prediction models in the calibration of the AASHTO Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) to South Dakota conditions.
