From the meeting

TxDOT's Houston District held a virtual public meeting and two in-person open houses for the proposed 36A South project from FM 1994 south of Needville to I 10 west of Katy. The proposed new location highway was described as about 41 miles long with four 12-foot travel lanes, a 64-foot grassy median, and a 10-foot shared use path. Three reasonable alternatives were under review: 4, 8A, and 9.

The notice said additional right of way would be required and comments were requested by September 4, 2026.

What is a pre-RFP?

A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
