From the meeting
The October 1, 2026 grant extension request said the Rural Organics Optimization Tool (ROOT) was delayed by contractor changes but had recently been presented in a functioning form. Staff said the tool was intended to help local agencies assess greenhouse gas impacts of organics management choices. The work is still active under the SB 1383 grant, so follow-on software, planning, or support conversations remain relevant.
