From the meeting
On October 28, 2026 the Borough introduced Ordinance 2026-18 to add lead-based paint inspection requirements to Chapter 400. The ordinance says Englishtown has been classified by DCA as a visual-inspection municipality and would require inspections of rental dwellings every three years or at tenant turnover, using Borough or private DCA-certified lead evaluation contractors. It also sets a $20 per-unit state assessment and gives the Borough Council authority to retain a lead evaluation contractor by resolution.
Public hearing and final adoption dates were left open.
