Michigan enacted the Motor Vehicle Dealer Data Collection Act, which regulates how manufacturers, third parties, dealer data vendors, and authorized integrators may access, share, and use protected dealer data. It requires standardized data exchange frameworks, open API access, termination and transition terms, and written consent rules for dealer data systems. The act took effect on 2026-10-09.
