From the meeting
At the September 22, 2026 meeting, the commission approved an agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency Management for a watershed master plan. Staff said the work is funded by a reimbursable Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) grant. The plan is the final prerequisite for the city's targeted flood insurance premium discount upgrade from Class 5 to Class 4.
The decision is already made, but the project is useful for firms that support grant management, flood studies, and implementation work tied to stormwater planning.
