From the meeting
At the September 1, 2026 council meeting, staff presented Waste Management's at-your-door household hazardous materials recycling program for chemicals, automotive products, cleaning products, gasoline, and some paint materials. The program would cost $1 per month per household and would require residents to request a pickup, receive a packet and special bag, and set it on the porch for collection. Staff said Waste Management would forego any CPI-adjusted rate increase on municipal solid waste collection if the city agreed to a 2-year contract extension.
The council tabled the item to a future meeting.
