From the meeting
At the October 5, 2026 Faculty Senate meeting, Interim Chancellor Eric Wilcots outlined multiple campus capital projects and the next biennial budget priority. He said Irving and Dorthy Levy Hall is the first major new classroom building for the humanities in more than 50 years, the Phillip A. Levy Engineering Center will open for move-in in late 2028, Science Hall is being restored and renovated, Music Hall will be renamed Herb Kohl Hall and reopen in 2029, and the Frautschi Center is expected to break ground this fall and open in late 2028.
He also said the highest capital priority for the next biennial budget is a three-pronged project for the Mead Witter School of Music, the Department of Art, and demolition of the Humanities Building. Decision state: discussed.
