From the meeting
At the October 26, 2026 meeting, the City Manager asked Council to direct the City Manager and City Attorney to prepare a vacant building ordinance consistent with DDA Resolution No. 03-2026 and the City's current code enforcement processes. The memo said the Downtown Development Authority had proposed a vacant building inspection program for commercial properties within the DDA district, with a one-year vacancy trigger and fees to be set later by Council.
The Council was also asked to authorize written responses to the DDA and the Historic District Commission. Decision state: recommended for Council consideration.
