From the meeting
At the October 1, 2026 meeting, staff said the strategic planning process was moving into a survey of commissioners, city and county administrators, and applicable committees within the next two weeks. The landfill design and restructuring plans were already completed and were expected to extend remaining capacity by about 15 years, through 2080. This is early planning for future capital and operational decisions, not a procurement yet.
