From the meeting
At its September 30, 2026 meeting, the committee reviewed a proposal to expand a cohort-based Nurse Aide training program in the Crater region. The project would contract with Southside Programs for Adult Continuing Education (SPACE) for adult education services and add a part-time case manager, with $80,000 of grant funds tied to the SPACE contract. Staff recommended approval of a $100,000 grant award.
The project is aimed at increasing certified nurse aide supply for healthcare employers.
