From the meeting
At its September 29, 2026 meeting, the supervisors heard that replacing the Courthouse generator transfer switch would require killing utility power, severing service to the Courthouse, and bringing the building up to code with a new 800 amp service. Jeremy Wittrock of Nelson Electric said the work is much more extensive than originally planned and estimated it at about $80,000 to $100,000. The board said it would contact Mid America about other options and asked Wittrock for a quote.
This is still in planning, but it points to a larger electrical upgrade and future contracting need.

Questions about this project
What is a pre-RFP?
A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
When will Audubon County issue an RFP for this project?
Pre-RFPs typically surface 6–18 months before a formal solicitation is published. Civic IQ tracks Audubon County's meeting records, agendas, and budgets continuously and updates this pre-RFP as the project moves through the buying cycle toward an RFP.
How can vendors engage with Audubon County before the RFP is published?
Vendors who reach out during the planning window can help shape requirements and build relationships with the decision-makers running the project. A free Civic IQ account unlocks this pre-RFP's source document, forecasted RFP timing, and verified Audubon County decision-maker contacts.
