From the meeting

At its September 16, 2026 meeting the board heard that Chief Buchan and Mark Harter met with Teller County Planning Director Colton Berck and Dan Swallow of the Community Development Department about a possible new fire station. Teller County said the new station must be built by a licensed contractor, and FFPD workers may assist if the contractor carries workmen's insurance for FFPD personnel. The county also said the location and extent application must include the existing Station 51 site and proposed new site, plus a narrative explaining the land use.

The district still needed to confirm a 30 inch water line easement with C/S Utilities.
