From the meeting
At its October 7, 2026 meeting, the BAC received an update on 30 Mill Street, Southbridge, the former Hamilton Woolen Mill site. The site was demolished in April 2026 and acquired by the town through tax-title taking; an open release involves chlorinated VOCs and arsenic in soil. The eligibility form and access agreement were complete and a Phase I environmental site assessment site visit was conducted.
Next steps were to draft the Phase I ESA, scope of work for subsurface investigation, and MCP-related deliverables.
