From the meeting
At its October 28, 2026 project update, TWDB and HDR reported the Elsa Gravel Pit Detention Ponds study (FME ID 15-51-0000000551). The study is evaluating two inactive gravel pit locations, lateral conveyance to the pits, and gate valve locations along East Lateral Drain to reduce flooding in Elsa and nearby communities. Current work included reviewing flood-prone areas, evaluating canals and gravel pit locations, and refining modeling before proposed alternatives and report documentation.
The update said recommendations will be prepared for the regional flood plan.
