From the meeting

At its October 21, 2026 meeting, the Huntington City Council passed Ordinance O-2026-11 amending Chapter 7-6 of the city code. The ordinance created a simple permit and recordkeeping process for excavation and other disturbance of streets, alleys, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and other public rights-of-way. It named the Zoning Administrator to administer the Street Excavation Permit process and set repair and restoration rules, including emergency excavation and changed restoration dates.

Decision state: approved.

Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
