From the meeting
At its October 20, 2026 meeting the Township Committee adopted Ordinance 2026-12 for a financial agreement with Southampton Housing Associates LLC for a new 60-family-unit affordable housing development. The site is 431 N Main Street, Block 903, Lot 21, and the ordinance authorized tax exemption and payment in lieu of taxes under the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency law. The tax exemption term runs for the shorter of up to 30 years, the first mortgage term, or the period affordability controls remain in place.
The Mayor was authorized to execute the agreement, subject to the Township Solicitor's review and recording of an affordable housing deed restriction.
