From the meeting
At its October 13, 2026 meeting the town manager reported that MaineDOT had cut the Mill Road bridge weight limit to 3 tons and planned to close the bridge by the end of October. MaineDOT said replacement was not on its work plan and would not be considered until at least 2029. The Town is still working through detours, turnarounds, signage, and resident impacts while it seeks a path toward replacement.
A bridge engineer or construction manager would care because the replacement window is distant but now identified.

A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
