From the meeting
At its July 29, 2026 meeting, the IRC heard that federal agencies will no longer be permitted to make standard payments from Suspense Accounts effective August 17, 2026. Treasury said the CARS ERD Partner TAS/BETC files would be modified, and any payment using a Suspense F Account would fail validations. After the meeting, Treasury and OMB delayed the implementation date to January 20, 2027.
This is a compliance and systems-change signal for payment processing and ERP teams.
