From the meeting
At its July 27, 2026 meeting, the council said a mitigation grant for the First Street School will be $2,000,000 for renovations. The plan is to refurbish the auditorium so it can be used again. Councilmember Labue and Elona Weston were named as points of contact, making this a live grant-funded capital project with follow-on work likely to flow from design through renovation.
