From the meeting
At its July 23, 2026 meeting the board authorized staff to apply for the California Strategic Growth Council Community Resiliency Centers Implementation Grant, and the August 27 agenda says staff are now gathering public input for the application. CARD is seeking up to $10 million for the Chico Aquatic and Community Resilience Center, with the application due September 25, 2026. The design and amenity choices are still being shaped, so the immediate sales angle is support for grant writing, planning, and community engagement.
