At its July 16, 2026 meeting, CAWA said it has been working with NRCS EQIP (Environmental Quality Incentives Program) grants for piping and lining ditches to address sinkholes, collapsing sections, and water losses. The group said reduced NRCS staffing has made project navigation harder and that Technical Assistance Grants from CWCB have helped fill the gap. CAWA is also looking at the EQIP Water Management Entity Program as a new route to advance projects.
