THE 30-SECOND BRIEF
Advanced leachate treatment system for the Seneca Meadows landfill to remove PFAS and other difficult compounds before discharge into wastewater treatment plants.
Inferred: The DEC is expected to implement stronger regulations for leachate pre-treatment. The town's current agreement for leachate treatment does not include a full list of chemicals, including PFAS, that are being analyzed elsewhere. A LEAF system has been proposed and is awaiting DEC approval.
