The NYC Department of Environmental Protection is providing $1 million to the Trust for Public Land for construction of a green playground and synthetic turf field at P.S. 69Q in Jackson Heights, designed to capture 260,000 gallons of stormwater annually. The project will reduce flooding, limit sewer overflows, and create nature-themed play space for the school community.
