Sinton Police Pursues 287(g) Task Force Agreement With ICE

The City of Sinton, through its Police Department, is entering into a 287(g) Task Force Model Memorandum of Agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to delegate limited federal immigration enforcement authority to selected local officers. ICE will provide training, IT infrastructure, and certain travel costs while Sinton bears salaries and local expenses, with the authorization for participating officers initially lasting two years and the MOA continuing until suspended or terminated. Renewal

The overarching MOA has no fixed end date and remains effective until either ICE or the Sinton Police Department suspends or terminates it under Section XVIII.
