The City of Sinton, through its Police Department, is entering into a 287(g) Task Force Model Memorandum of Agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to delegate limited federal immigration enforcement authority to selected local officers. ICE will provide training, IT infrastructure, and certain travel costs while Sinton bears salaries and local expenses, with the authorization for participating officers initially lasting two years and the MOA continuing until suspended or terminated. The agreement sets detailed supervision, complaint, and civil rights frameworks for the joint operations.

ICE will certify participating officers to perform delegated immigration enforcement functions for an initial period of two years from the date of authorization; after that, continued authority would require renewed certification or an updated MOA. The overarching MOA has no fixed end date and remains effective until either ICE or the Sinton Police Department suspends or terminates it under Section XVIII.
