From the meeting
Town Manager Fred Presley reviewed the history of efforts to expand parking behind the firehouse and said the original state grant was about $500,000, with another $250,000 later authorized by the Town Council. He explained that the original layout could not work because a second means of egress was needed, so staff explored access through neighboring properties and then looked at other locations in Old Wethersfield. He described a possible project behind the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center that could add about 60 spaces and include walking paths and trails.
The concept was still under evaluation and had not been approved.

Questions about this project
What is a pre-RFP?
A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
