From the meeting
The city granted preliminary approval for a proposed downtown street circuit super moto racing event promoted by BP Promotions. The council did not approve the event itself; it authorized continued planning, negotiation, and preparation of a final special event agreement. The proposal calls for temporary street closures, public safety planning, insurance, and a final economic impact study before return to council.
This is an active pre-event planning item with a named promoter and a clear next decision point.
