From the meeting
The board adopted bylaws for the Mountain Gateway Technical Education Center (MG-TEC) IT Academy, which will operate at Mountain Gateway Community College and the Rockbridge Regional Center. The school is designed to build an IT pipeline with emphasis on cybersecurity, cloud computing, and technical support. Old Dominion University will serve as fiscal agent, and the Virginia Department of Education funds the program.
This is a governance signal for an IT-focused lab school that may need technology, curriculum, internships, and administrative support.
