THE 30-SECOND BRIEF
SLOCOG and Pismo Beach have pivoted the Shell Beach Road Shared Use Path to a full-corridor Phase 2+3 project, using new $2M federal CPF and future reprogrammed RIP funds. They plan to complete NEPA, design, and ROW by 2028 and then seek ATP Cycle 9 construction funding. Detailed design, ROW strategy, and a new co-op agreement are still being developed, creating near-term opportunities for design, environmental, and grant support beyond the current consultant scope.
TCEP funds lapsed; SLOCOG will re-commit up to $3.2M in 2028 RTIP and is negotiating expanded PE scope with the current design consultant via amendment. Right-of-way encroachment into Caltrans property is being explored to reduce walls and costs.
