From the meeting
RVARC presented an in-progress microtransit feasibility study requested by Franklin County and funded through a Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) Technical Assistance Grant. The study is being completed by Kimley-Horn and Associates and is scheduled for completion by the end of December 2026. It will evaluate service models, community needs, and an implementation strategy for demand-responsive transit between Franklin County and the Roanoke Valley.
The current work creates a clear next step for transit planning, service design, and implementation support.
