From the meeting
On October 6, 2026 council supported MFOA's request to make the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) doubling permanent before 2027 allocations. The motion was advocacy, not a local procurement, but it signals the municipality's ongoing dependence on grant funding for infrastructure renewal. Sellers in roads, bridges, and asset management should track the 2027 funding environment because it may shape future capital programs.
The issue was tied to municipal asset management backlogs and renewal needs.
