From the meeting
On October 6, 2026, Council reviewed Ordinance No. 26-116 for a $100,000 supplemental appropriation in the Electric Fund for Tyler payment fees. Assistant Service Director Mike Testa said the City uses Tyler's online billing platform and Tyler, the provider of the New World accounting system, required customers using its billing portal to use Tyler's payment processor.
He said the City was not currently charging a separate card fee and that total 2026 payment-processing costs would be about $375,000. He also said the City planned to explore replacing the payment processor by the end of the first quarter of 2027 and have a replacement operational by the end of June 2027.
