From the meeting
On August 18, 2026 the board received a water update on PFAS contamination in the Latrobe and Miller's Hill drinking water wells. The district had disengaged Well #2, installed bottled water in classrooms, and brought in trucked water for toilets and handwashing. Doug Shupe said the district will work with county and state water agencies on mitigation and is pursuing state grant opportunities for reimbursement of drinking water solution costs.

Questions about this project
What is a pre-RFP?
A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
When will Latrobe issue an RFP for this project?
Pre-RFPs typically surface 6–18 months before a formal solicitation is published. Civic IQ tracks Latrobe's meeting records, agendas, and budgets continuously and updates this pre-RFP as the project moves through the buying cycle toward an RFP.
How can vendors engage with Latrobe before the RFP is published?
Vendors who reach out during the planning window can help shape requirements and build relationships with the decision-makers running the project. A free Civic IQ account unlocks this pre-RFP's source document, forecasted RFP timing, and verified Latrobe decision-maker contacts.
