THE 30-SECOND BRIEF
LCWSA amended its Water Service Rules and Regulations to require, where feasible, that meters for new water service connections be installed in meter pits near the curb box, instead of inside structures. The Authority will provide a standardized residential meter pit and meter once the permit is paid, with an added cost of about $1,000 included in the permit. This policy change increases future demand for meter pits, meters, and related installation services across ongoing district extensions and water main expansion projects.
Change does not affect existing customers; targeted at new connections, especially in new district extensions and expansions.
