From the meeting
In its July 28, 2026 report, the Library said it paused advancement of a future bond measure for a new central library because of economic uncertainty, rising construction costs, and long-term financial sustainability concerns. Staff will revisit community feedback, internal needs, the preliminary facility program, and alignment with the YMCA. The capital plan is not dead, but the next step is more planning before any future funding push.
